E1 is a timed warning to clean the filter. Disconnect the power for 5 seconds and reconnect. Oh yeah, clean the filter!

E1 error revision
There is a revision to the E1 reset procedure for some models . .
Unplug the unit . . plug it back in while pressing the ON/OFF pad . . Keep pressing till the unit "beeps" . . pull the plug again and plug it in again

Unplug the unit . . plug it back in while pressing the MODE pad . . Keep pressing till the unit "beeps" . . Stop the unit using the ON/OFF pad . . re-start it . .
