0 How can I transfer call to an outside telephone number? I've tried to do so as the manual says, but it doesn't work that way.

0 I transfer all of the time. While the first line is OPEN push the "transfer" button and it will begin a fast flash. Now hit a second line and dial the number you want to transfer it to. Always dial the area code with no "1" for each call even if it is a local call normally. When you hear ringing on the 2nd line - place receiver on the hook. You will see both lines stay lit up until the call is complete. You may have to have a transfer feature through your phone company for this to work.
