Important Safety Information
Always turn off powerto the air conditioningor heating systemprior to installing,
removing,cleaning or servicing thermostat.
Read thismanual thoroughly prior toinstalling, programming oropera ting this
thermostat.
This thermostat is designedfor use with a24 VoltAC low voltage multi-stage heat
pump system.
Do notuse this thermostat on single stagesystems or other systemswith
voltages higherthan 30VoltAC.
This thermostat requires 24VoltAC power fornormal operation andcontrol of the
heating orcooling system.
This thermostat also requirestwo (2) properly installed"AA" alkaline batteries to
retain usersettings and programs inthe event of lossof AC Power due topower
outage orrolling blackouts.
Wiring mustconform to all buildingcodes and ordinances asrequired by local
and nationalcode authorities having jurisdiction.
Do notshort (or jumper) acrossterminals on the gasvalve or atthe heating or
cooling systemcontrol board to testthe thermostat installation. This could
damage thethermostatand voidthe warranty.
Do notselect COOL mode ofoperation ifthe outside temperature isbelow50˚ F
(10˚ C). This could possiblydamage the controlledcooling system and maycause
personal injury.
This thermostat should onlybe used as describedin this manual. Any other use
is notrecommended and will voidthe warranty.
