5 I was having trouble with this, too, but I finally figured out that STANDBY mode is when the AM/FM/AUX is off. You can do this only holding in the RADIO/OFF button until the AUX icon disappears and the display dims a bit.

0 This is very complex and bad sound radio.  It is not worth the effort. As soon as you set it up it "forgets"the settings. I am donating mine to my worst enemy! RCA RCR8622 bought it at Target. Terrible purchase. Stay clear.
