my smoke detector is a 2501-a0064 and says battery...

my smoke detector is a 2501-a0064 and says battery not replaceable, it is now making a beeping sound every 5 -10 seconds, what does this mean and what should i do

3 I had same problem. Came home after 4 days to cold house, alarm was beeping. Vacuumed the alarm and put on heating! One of these done the trick - problem solved

3 I also encountered this problem. I took the advice of K_rs (i.e. vacuume cleaned the unit) and, so far, appear to have cured the problem. Suggest you also go to the following web site http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jan/31/lives-risk-smoke-detectors-firefighters
