my autopage remote locks and unlock my truck but d...

my autopage remote locks and unlock my truck but does not start my truck what is it .. but when i start it with my key i hit the star button on the remote and i able to take the key out of the ignition and the truck stays on also im able to to turn it off with the remote it just wont start it help...
