5 I take a think. Rag and a wire hanger. Then bent it to clean the inside where the dirt sucks up to clean suction part. Then I. Run 1/2 Apple vinegar and 1/2 water and them I. Pull off the filter. And wash it in kitchen sink and pull off all the fuze and dirt that gathers on it. I hope I have been helpful
