5 You might need to prime the pump manually. directions: Fill water tank. Turn power on. Open the steam knob all the way. Press the coffee button. Put a cup under the steam pump wand. Wait until you see a steady flow of water and no air. When you see the flow of water, close the steam knob. Turn off the coffee button. Now the machine should be ready to brew an espresso.
