The TV is not responding to all remotes, including...

The TV is not responding to all remotes, including Direct TV remote. Upon pressing the volume button, TV lights up but volume does not go up or down. All batteries in the remotes checked and changed. Direct TV technician said the TV infrared light was not functioning well.
