Question About Firex FX1020
False Alarms...

I've had the smoke/fire detector for 20 years and just recently start getting false alarms. When the alarm sound it was no smoke or fire anywhere in the house. Could dust cause false alarms? I recently had some home improvement work done involving drywall sanding--could that be the sorce of my problem?
