Not washing or spinning

5 E2 is the lid not fully closed. I have just had the same fault. I found that the lid has a small magnet on the right hand under side of the lid. When the lid is down the magnet makes a small switch under the bowl cover telling the main printed circuit board the lid is down and safe to run. The magnet on mine was rusted and broke down and eventually fell out therefore not making the micro switch. I f you can not get the same size magnet to replace it, a simple fix is to remove the 4 screws holding the top down and cut the switch off (two yellow wires) and join them together. Make sure you waterproof new the connection. The only down side is that the lid can be lifted and the wash and/or spin cycle will not stop on safety cut out which can be dangerous to children.
