I cannot get my jvc to pick up any channels, eithe...

I cannot get my jvc to pick up any channels, either through straight cable or using a cable box. I've tuned the tv in every way...it's like it does not want to recognize a cable input of any kind. My hdmi port is blown so I have to use the componet or coaxial, still no pic
