5 Often times the TV has multiply HDMI source inputs. Make sure the cord is firmly connect to both your device and the TV. Once this is done, turn both your device and tv on. Press the source button at the top of the remote ( usually a different color from the other buttons on the remote ). Typically the TV has (3) three different HDMI sources you need to shuffle through. If your tv was bought or made in 2012 or 2013 you will need to press the enter/ confirm button in the center of the remote in order to confirm the switch to the HDMI source. If you have tried all of these steps with no luck, I would recommend return the HDMI cable to the store because it is more than likely defective. Good luck at solving your problem!
