5 First thing first you need to light the pilot on the gas logs. Igniting it is not hard almost anyone can do it in a couple minutes. For this you will need long matches. To do this you need to locate the gas line that enters your house, usually located in the basement. When you do this make sure the inline valve is switched to on. Make a thorough of the majestic fireplace to clean any dust on the gas logs. Along with this , examine the fireplace to see if there is any furniture or cloth around the fireplace area. Once these are located you need to move these items away from the fireplace because these items can become a fire hazard. Locate the gas turn on knob in the back of the fireplace and turn the knob on. Next go to the front of the fireplace to find the temperature knob and turn it to LIGHT. Then take one of the long matches mentioned earlier. Strike the long match and place it through the small hole on the front of the gas logs that leads back to the pilot light. You need to wait until the pilot light is lit and disregard the match properly. Then last but not least after the pilot light is lit, turn the temperature knob to the desired temperature. Be careful lighting the pilot light but you do need to check to see if the pilot light is still lit periodically. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays- Hilory W.
