I was baking in my oven and the F-3 came on and turned the oven off. Why did this happen?

5 F-3 means an open circuit. With the maytags I have seen quite a few people having this problem. Usually the F-3 code happens when something has gone wrong with the clock or the ECU. This is an electrical problem that requires some know how of basic electric board function. Have you had any other problems wit electric? If so such as a faulty clock once this is fixed your F-3 error will be resolved. So basically it's an open circuit within the electrical part of the appliance
