5 Loud fan noises and loud noises in general are caused by vibrations. If the motor for the fan was burnt out it wouldn't work at all so my conclusion is that the fans mount is loose, the bearing around the fan need some lubrication or a gasket or bushing is simply wearing out which deaden sound.
