PEAVEY SPECIAL 112 AMP...

WHEN I HIT THE AMP WITH MY GUITAR CONNECTED, I WILL HEAR A LOUD CRACKING SOUND. IT IS NOT THE REVERB. COULD IT BE A BAD CONECTION AT THE INPUT JACK? OR SOMETHING ELSE. THANKS.
