I just bought a sharper image mini bluetooth ellip...

I just bought a sharper image mini bluetooth elliptic speaker and I plugged it up to charge for eight hours before first use as the manual said, then the red light came on as expected and then it went off. I unplugged and replugged and it came back on, but for only about a minute. It won't turn on also. Please help!
