how do you watch live TV while recording each time...

how do you watch live TV while recording each time the recording starts it go's to the recording station and I can not watch live tv or change stations

5 The DVD recorder does not work like a standard dvr, the DVD recorder works more rather like a VHS recorder in which it tapes the live show on the display
