Question About Uniden Cordless Telephone DCX750
"out of range"...

This product has 4 phones and recently 2 of them do not work with the message that they are "out of range". I have a manual and have tried to fix this problem but have had no success. I would welcome any sugggestions. Thanks

7 Good info, but the TCX860 requires the "#" and the "end" keys simultaneously for the 5 seconds. I would never have guessed without your post, however..

5 My phone is a Uniden DSS7955, but the technique might work for you. Ok. My problem was that the main phone and answering machine worked fine, but the second handset kept saying, "Out of range" no matter what I did. If I tried to make a call, it would say, "Connecting...", but after a while, "Out of range". I followed the manual which offers two mechanisms to deregister the phone. The first method (press Menu soft key...) went through the motions and then said, "Out of range"! The second method in the manual worked - after I worked out what the instructions mean! So here's the answer: Take the phone out of the cradle (charger). Press and hold simultaneously for more than 5 seconds the red telephone-symbol key and the # key. You will hear a confirmation tone and DEREGISTRATION COMPLETE appears. Now go to the OTHER phone (the MAIN phone). Take it out of its cradle and put the deregistered second handset in the MAIN cradle. The window displays a few messages and then REGISTRATION COMPLETE. After that, for me, everything worked. (Put each phone back in its normal cradle.)

5 This seems to work with other Uniden phones - in particular the TCX805 (I bought this second hand - it had been registered to a base which I did not own). The second option had not been provided in the manual (figures). What worked for me was pressing the "end" (or Red button) and "#" simultaneously.

4 All 4 of muy Uniden phones read out of range. I held the pound sign and the red phone at the same time until it de registered. went to the main phone unplugged the jack and power to the base and also disconnected the battery from the phone. I waited two minutes plugged everything back in, put the battery into the phone and placed it in the cradle. It worked and so did the rest of the phones. Hope this was helpful and it didn't cost 30 dollars

0 NEITHER OF THOSE REMEDIES WORKED WITH MY TRU446-2, SO I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM.do both handsets have to be charged up? the no.2 handset has a dead battery.
