I have a Whirlpool 4214164. Everything works fine ...

I have a Whirlpool 4214164. Everything works fine except can not start at beginning of 10 min wash cycle. I have to pull control knob & start at 6 min. It is not dogs or lid switch

5 The timer is designed with contact fingers, or tabs. They are activated, closed or open, by rotating cam wheels. If other settings work, and one doesn't, the contact on a selected function is burnt. Usually the most used cycles, or functions, usually burn out faster. This is my prediction of your problem. But, my prediction is based on that everything else works. Since you said the 10 minute fails to start, but the 6 minute does, then my prediction is that of the timer.
