Unable to start after checking fuel line, replacin...

Unable to start after checking fuel line, replacing spark plug. PULLED PLUG AND TOUCHED END OF PLUG TO A METAL PART OF THE ENGINE AND PULLED STARTER CORD. THERE IS NO SPARK VISIBLE ON THE SPARK PLUG. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
