Adding a Hotspare Disk Drive

1. From the Array Conﬁ guration Utility Main menu, select "Manage Arrays" and

press <Enter> to access the submenu as shown:

2. In the "List of Arrays" dialogue box (on the right), select the array you wish

to conﬁ gure as a hot spare and press <Ctrl> and <S> simultaneously.

3. A "Hotspares" dialogue box displays, showing the drives that can be conﬁ g-

ured as Hotspares.

4. Select the drive you wish to conﬁ gure as a hotspare and press <Insert>.

The drive selected will appear in the Assigned Hotspares List. Then, press

<Enter>.

5. When prompted by a message, asking you if you want to conﬁ rm the selection,

press <Yes> and <Enter> to conﬁ gure the selected drive as a hotspare.
