Hard-disk drive
WARNING! The product contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge
(ESD). Always perform service work at an ESD-protected workstation. If an ESD-protected
workstation is not available, discharge body static by grasping the device chassis before touching
an ESD-sensitive component. Ground the device chassis before servicing the product.
1. Remove the formatter cage (see Formatter cage on page 49), open the formatter-cage door, and
then disconnect the hard-disk drive cables (callout 1) from the hard-disk drive.

2. Slide the hard-disk drive to the right to remove it.
